Turkey is mainly located in Western Asia with more than 82 million inhabitants and with a land area of 783,562 square kilometers. Turkey is bounded to the Northwest by Greece and Bulgaria, to the Northeast by Georgia, to the East by Azerbaijan and Iran, to the South by Iraq and Syria. Ankara is its capital but Istanbul is the country's largest city.
